Apparently it takes me roughly one semester to acclimate to moving. Haven’t stitched much lately just little bits on old projects but will be doing some embroidery on some handkerchiefs for my brother soon as well as getting back to work on some of my old projects. So hopefully posts from me will be more regular, probably not super frequent but at least not one every four months or so…
I have only done embroidery a couple times so I am hoping it goes well, spent some time reading up on hand rolled hems and the basic stitches. I will be doing several monograms, the rest are kind of a toss up of what they will be. I should probably go to bed though since I need to get up for class early tomorrow and don’t want to fall asleep in my lab.
Joke provided by my dad, much more amusing when he says it with such enthusiasm. Just a note I’m not dead or anything was driving cross country and moving into my dorm and then of course starting classes but I am moved and mostly settled in. I hope to stitch a good amount this weekend so hopefully a new post actually featuring stitching soon.
Finished the blue today just got the cream/light tan and the white to do. I really want it done by the end of the week and I work mostly closing shifts so hopefully I can get myself out of bed early and stitch for awhile before I have to leave.
Also am going to post up progress shots of my pokemon squares for my other quilts. No totals for time or cost for those since I haven’t worked on them in awhile but figured I had my camera out might as well post some progress shots.
Have to sort a lot of stuff before I move so hopefully I can find time to stitch because I really want to mail everything before I leave that way I don’t have to worry about keeping track of it or remembering to mail it the first week I am there. On a side note got some caramel VIA today, haven’t tried it yet because I bought a coffee before I saw it but am looking forward to trying it tomorrow.

Finally finished off the gray tonight which after finishing I’m not sure why it took me so freaking long but at least it is done, now to tackle the blue. Work the next couple days so will see if I am more productive then my days off which where mostly spent playing Mario Bros Wii and sleeping…
Just over two weeks til my move which will kick off with a week long road trip to Ohio so there will most likely be a week or two without any updates or very small updates depending on how things go. I need to finish this square and my Mankey/Primeape square for a different charity quilt before I leave so they can be in the mail in case I don’t get the others finished in time.

Turns out the work schedule got moved about a bit so I worked early today and yesterday went out to celebrate my Mom’s B-Day which was fun. Did a little stitching tonight, should probably do more but I realized I had some spare Wii points so will be getting a couple NES games which will be my entertainment for the night.
I really need to finish off the gray and blue so all I have to worry about is filling in the background but I keep putting it off. I’m off tomorrow, not sure if I will stitch a lot or end up playing video games or watching True Blood which I just started watching and can’t decide if it is ok or if I am in love with it, still up in the air on that one. I do love It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia which I also just started watching, at first didn’t see the big deal then about 3 episodes in realized it was awesome.

So my gray/blue plan didn’t exactly work out since I realized I was super behind on watching my recordings and netflix that I decided to stay downstairs and I was too lazy to bring my computer with me. Made some good progress on the background and worked a little on the blue.
Will be working evening shifts most of next week and have sat-mon off so hopefully can bang out some more stitching since I really want to get this square done so I can work on some of my other projects. The quilter putting together the squares has given us all a reprieve till September 1st but I need to have mine in the mail before I move or else it will never get sent which is unacceptable. Looks like next week will be more stitching and netflix watching.

Still plugging away at my SMB3 square, finished off the last of the red tonight as I have been procrastinating on it for awhile. Think I will tackle the last of the gray and blue tomorrow so that all I have left is the background and Mario’s white to fill in.
Not a very eventful day, went to work, it was sunny so I got to wear my new raybans. Came home had some lunch took a power nap and stitched. Tomorrow have to go to a car dealership and get things with my car dealt with which will suck, luckily I will be doing that first thing in the morning which means the rest of the day I can relax.

Some more progress on my SMB3 square. I will most likely be posting on this project for the week till it is finished. I think I am going to run out of 739 again which is the background color and I hate running out of thread when I am getting close to being done. I only work a short shift tomorrow and am off tuesday so here is to hoping I am more productive the next couple of days then I have been in the last week.
A few days ago one of our regular framing customers who pretty much only has us frame cross stitch works that she does on commission. She shared an interesting tidbit with me, apparently she charges 1¢ a stitch plus cost of materials. Now I know for a fact there is no way I stitch 725 stitches an hour to hit the minimum wage marker, if I had to guess an average maybe 250-300 stitches per hour. Granted everyone stitches at different speeds and while the penny method I am sure still makes for a good rate to charge , but to do it that way and average minimum wage you would have to be a pretty freaking fast stitcher. Next time some of our other regular cross stitch customers come in I’ll have to see what they charge for commission works.

This one won’t have a very accurate final total because I can only really guesstimate the amount of thread I have used before this update. I started this many moons ago and took a rather long break and have gone back to it because I have about 2 weeks to finish this and fingers crossed also hopefully my Kefka square.
Was on a trip and tried cross stitching on the plane which going wasn’t bad, it didn’t make me sick at all. The only problem was the rest of my connecting flights and flights home I had someone sitting directly next to me which meant I didn’t really have any room to cross stitch so it wasn’t as productive as I first thought. Got back yesterday and plan to stitch tonight and a good amount tomorrow since I really want to try to get both of my squares done in time.

Should really be asleep since I work in 6 hours but wanted to get some stitching done before my trip in case cross stitching on the plane makes me sick. Not much progress since I messed up yesterday and had to take out the bad stitches.
At least got a start on the pink unfortunately the one color that would really help is the one color the store is out of so keeping track is sort of hard with the dark colors being so close.
